Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
OptionIncomeTools (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the website at https://optionincometools.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you provide directly
Core calculators and screeners. No account is required to use the core calculators, screeners, or dashboards. These pages do not collect names, phone numbers, or financial-account information through any standard interface. Watchlists, wheel-tracker trades, and screener filters are saved only in your browser's localStorage (see section 1b) and are never transmitted to our servers.
Alerts service (/alerts/). To receive alert notifications you must provide an email address. We store this email address to (i) send you the alert notifications you configured, (ii) generate a signed unsubscribe link, and (iii) associate your alert rules with your subscription so they can be edited or deleted. Alerts email data is stored in Cloudflare KV within our production Worker account. We do not sell, rent, or share this email address with third parties. You can unsubscribe by clicking the link in any alert email, which deletes both the email address and all rules associated with it. Alert rules are retained until you unsubscribe.
Email delivery. Outgoing alert emails are sent through our email service provider (currently Resend / SendGrid — check the “via” header on any email received). That provider processes the message content and email address on our behalf under a data-processing agreement.
Optional cloud sync for portfolio + watchlist. If you opt into cloud sync, your portfolio positions and watchlist tickers are stored in our Worker's KV store keyed by an anonymous device identifier. No account, no email required. You can revoke sync in the app at any time, which purges the KV record.
Contact. If you contact us by email at [email protected] or via the corrections form, we receive the email address and message content you choose to send. These messages are retained for editorial and legal-compliance purposes.
b. Information stored locally in your browser
The site uses your browser’s localStorage to save user preferences (theme, watchlist tickers, wheel-tracker trade entries). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently.
c. Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically collects standard log data, including:
- IP address (anonymized after 24 hours per Cloudflare’s policy)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URL
- Pages visited and time on page
- Approximate geographic location (country level)
This data is used to diagnose abuse, improve site performance, and prevent attacks. We do not link it to any personally identifying information.
d. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics or similar) that do not set tracking cookies and do not fingerprint visitors. If we later add Google Analytics, this policy will be updated and a consent banner will be presented to users in applicable jurisdictions.
e. Advertising
This site is supported by display advertising. We work with Google AdSense and may work with additional ad networks (Ezoic, Mediavine, Raptive) as the audience grows. These networks may set cookies and use device identifiers to show relevant ads and measure performance. See the “Third-party services” section below for details and opt-out links.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website
- To diagnose performance and security issues
- To display advertising that helps fund the site
- To respond to inquiries you send us directly
We do not sell or rent personal information.
3. Third-party services
a. Cloudflare
We host the site on Cloudflare Pages and proxy API traffic through Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes request data on our behalf. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
b. Polygon.io
Market data is fetched server-side from Polygon.io. Your visits do not pass personal data to Polygon; we only request the ticker chains needed to render the page.
c. Stooq
Historical price data for change-percent calculations is fetched server-side from Stooq. As with Polygon, no personal data is passed.
d. Google AdSense
When advertising is active, Google may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings or aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.com (EU).
If we serve Google AdSense to users in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use Google’s certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) to obtain the legally required consent before personalized advertising is shown.
e. Broker affiliate links
Some outbound links to brokers (Interactive Brokers, tastytrade, Webull, moomoo) and to Polygon.io are affiliate links. If you open an account through one of these links, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The site itself does not set tracking cookies. Cookies set by third-party services (e.g., AdSense, when active) are governed by those services’ own policies. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through settings. Doing so may prevent ads from displaying but will not affect the calculators.
5. Your rights
GDPR (EU / EEA / UK residents)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to:
- Access information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of inaccurate information
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent (where consent is the legal basis)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the address below.
CCPA / CPRA (California residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us.
6. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Data retention
We retain server log data for up to 90 days. Email correspondence is retained as long as necessary to address the inquiry and any follow-up.
8. Security
All site traffic is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. We follow industry-standard practices to protect data, but no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect material changes. Significant changes will be announced via a notice on the site.
